Innovation and R&D Health Check Process
The Innovation and R&D Health Check is specifically designed to provide an overall view of the current state of innovation and R&D activities within a company. The main purpose of the Health Check is to assess the state of innovation within the company; to develop ways to increase the level of innovation; and to ensure the company achieves its business goals.

In addition, the process enables companies to estimate the benefits available through the 125% R&D Tax Concession program, and to educate the relevant technical and financial staff in the recognition and documentation of eligible R&D projects.

A typical Innovation and R&D Health Check would include the following:
  • A workshop with technical and financial staff on identifying current innovation and R&D activities.
  • A workshop to assess the value of individual projects and their relative importance. This workshop would cover the identification of all potential R&D activities in the past and current year, as well as future plans for R&D projects.Tailored programs for business owners
  • Preparation and submission of a report detailing findings.
  • A list of suggestions of how to improve innovation and R&D processes within the company. This would comprise idea generation, the product development process, and getting to market.
  • Identification of projects eligible for R&D Tax Concession. A report would be prepared covering all eligible R&D activities conducted in the financial year under review; the report would include the net (after tax) benefit of the eligible projects.
  • Other sources of government funding.
